Tekla Festival

The Tekla workshop offers girls aged 11–15 the opportunity to learn about code and explore different tech gear in an environment where all roles are available to them. The main goal is to involve more teenage girls in STEM by providing them with a fun and creative opportunity to explore and learn.
Tekla started after the artist Robyn received the prestigious prize from KTH in 2013. She wanted to find a new way to inspire girls to become interested in technology, as the field had long been dominated by men.
Tekla has had a presence in Sweden for some time, and when KTH, in collaboration with the Swedish Institute, opted to take these workshops global, we assisted in crafting the toolkit and event materials. Original design by Jesper Kouthoofd and Valtech.
